Labor Day Weekend special offer

It's Labor Day Weekend in the USA, which I have no real clue about other than... something about wearing white?

However, it does mean that PRESUMED DEAD has been selected for a 99¢ Kindle deal, so if you don't have it yet, go get it. If you do have it, tell your friends. If you've already done both of those things and you're feeling generous, write a review!

As usual, the other ebook emporia are matching the deal, so you should be able to get it from your preferred source:

Presumed Dead on sale, and Harrogate

I'm off to the wonderful Theakstons Old Peculier Crime Writing Festival at Harrogate this weekend, and to join in with the festivities, my publisher is offering my new book for only 99p in UK ebook this weekend.

It's not even out in paperback yet, so this is a big £7 saving, and I hope you'll find it an offer you can't refuse.

You can get it at all the usual ebook outlets:

As for my itinerary at Harrogate, I'll be on a panel on series fiction chaired by Marnie Riches, and taking part in the hungover quiz show on Saturday.

Aside from that, I'll be generally socialising/drinking, so if you're at Harrogate, please come and say hello.

The Killing Season - 99p UK Kindle deal

Just a quick update to say that the first Carter Blake novel, The Killing Season has been selected for the Start a Great Series 99p promotion on Amazon in the UK, so if you don't have it yet, now's the time to remedy that situation!

Lee Child said it was "My kind of book", Lisa Gardner warns "Prepare to read all night", and even a certain former President of the United States said it "looks terrific". Still don't know if he got around to reading it.

Get it on Kindle here for 99p

As usual, the deal is being price matched at the other ebook retailers, so you can also get The Killing Season is 99p on your preferred platform:

iBooks

If you want me to let you know when there's a deal like this, or just get occasional updates when something happens, sign up for my Readers Club and you'll get a heads up.

The Samaritan - ebook publication

I've been extremely busy on the next book, Crimefest and some other stuff, all of which I'll blog about soon, but this is just a quick post to say the second Carter Blake book, The Samaritan, is published today as an ebook. I think it's UK-only right now, but happy to be corrected if it's available in any other territories.

This is a new technique I've noticed recently, bringing out the e-version ahead of print. I assume it's a good way of getting advance sales data to gauge print run, and pick up some early reviews. A bit like getting radio airplay ahead of the album release, maybe.

Anyway. If you can't wait for the real book version to be published on July 16th, you can get The Samaritan on your Kindle right now, or as an Audible download. Happy reading!

ebook promotion and some other things...

Sainsburys is including The Killing Season in its Spring Reads ebook deal, meaning that for a limited time, you can download it for only £1.99 - lots of other great books in this promotion too, so go look for a bargain!

It also looks like Amazon is matching the deal, at least in the UK. Ebook promotions seem to be a good way of reaching more readers and generating some (hopefully nice) reviews, so it's good timing ahead of the mass market paperback release in April and The Samaritan in May.

My event at Cambuslang Library last week went really well, and I'll be announcing some more events in the very near future - watch this space!

Book Addict Shaun posted a fantastic review over at his blog, saying lots of very flattering things, including:
The Killing Season was an exhilarating roller coaster ride of a read and when I finished it I wanted to read it all over again. Brutally fast-paced and brilliantly addictive, I can't recommend this book enough if there's still people out there yet to discover Mason Cross.

And, speaking of blogs, I have a couple of new pieces up on The Murder Room: the latest Bosch episode review, and my two cents on one of the greatest mystery novels of all time: The Maltese Falcon.

That's it for now. Be careful out there...
